Folding Laundry Gives Me Hives

by beth on July 2, 2009

housewife_laundryI have a ton of laundry to put away.  With 6 people in the house it’s like a never ending vicious cycle.  I don’t mind doing laundry.  I can put clothes in the washer and dryer for days.  But for some reason I can never motivate myself to actually put it away.  Instead I get a sick feeling when I look at the baskets awaiting me.

I have tried everything to motivate myself and cure what has to be an allergic reaction.  I literally feel like I’m going to break out in hives when I’m doing it.  That and I hate folding.

The elder children help put away their clothes, although sometimes that makes more work for me not less given their ages.  Hubby does a great deal of folding, he doesn’t seem to have an allergic reaction to it the way I do.  Must be genetic.

I have to come up with a plan of action because if not I’m going to be overrun by baskets and baskets and baskets of clean clothes.

Haha! I feel the exact same way! My stomach threatens rebellion just looking at the stack of clothes to put away. How strange. I actually found this blog while procrastinating/not doing it!

Laundry-putter-awayers of the world, unite! And go in for a maid to make the rounds of our houses & do it for us!

OMG you should see the piles of clean laundry on my bedroom floor. You would die. We moved here a year ago and our room doesn’t have a closet yet, though it’s on the list. Anyway, we just don’t have any place to put the stuff. So it sits. It gets so bad that I don’t even want to go in my room to go to bed.

Michelle–

I totally understand. Our bedroom is the worst I make a path & try to act like it’s postmodern art. What’s even worse is that if you looked at our room you’d think that was it but we still have several baskets of clean clothes in other rooms.
