It looks like some things have changed since the 1950s. I actually mean one of my kids when I say “Mommy’s Little Helper.” I’m apparently missing out on a whole world of fun. ‘Cuz look she’s got that glassy-eyed look with the Stepford Wife stare & we all know that means she’s now having fun making breakfast.

My mother had trouble losing weight after I was born, so the helpful doctor gave her benzedrine! She said her house was never so clean, as those happy weeks when she was flying on uppers. Unfortunately, she got pneumonia and landed in the hospital half dead. Took those goofy 1960′s doctors a minute to realize the stupidity of their little prescription pad/magic carpets…
I have a bleary-eyed look at breakfast time but not glassy-eyed. Glad I found your blog!
@Dee– My grandma tells a similar story with meds. It’s crazy what went on.
@Maggie–I’m also bleary-eyed in the morning, I need my coffee to function.
