It’s My Birthday & I’m Turning 99!!

Yep, that’s right today is my birth­day.  I’m actu­ally turn­ing 31, not 99.   Yet, accord­ing to my chil­dren I’m either 9 or 99.  At first I was insulted at the sug­ges­tion I was 99.  I mean 9 I get, that’s “old” to the 6 & under crowd but 99!! Do they really think I’m that old?  

Still upon reflec­tion I real­ized something. If I were 99 then I’d be a cen­te­nar­ian next year & every­one knows that cen­te­nar­ian is the new black evening dress.  It’s “in” fash­ion, every­one loves to fea­ture centenarians.That gets me think­ing that per­haps I should roll with it. Then I could get inter­viewed by local TV sta­tions & show­cased by Willard Scott on the Today Show. 

With 31 I get nada, zip, zilch.  No Smucker’s Jam spon­sor­ship encir­cling my smil­ing face on TV.  But with 99 I’m be on the cut­ting edge of minor celebrity, I’d be 1 year away from the cov­eted Smucker’s spot­light on the Today Show. Plus I’m one fine look­ing 99 year old momma.
