I have totally been wanting a BlackBerry* since I did an interview with a woman who had one back last Fall. Hubby had been drooling over them for months. So I had been hearing/seeing/talking BlackBerries for a while via Hubby’s obsession.
Anyway, this woman seemed so organized with it, the features looked amazing, & to be honest I just thought it looked cute. I had been resisting the CrackBerry’s lure for years & now I was suckered in. Since then I’ve been drooling over them too.
However, in my defense I have needed a new cell phone for a while it doesn’t work sometimes (e.g. won’t turn on, charge, ring etc…). It’s apparently also too old to fix. I tend to keep my phones until the technology is so ancient people exclaim with horror “OH MY!! Is that a Zack Morris phone?” (props for those who know who Zack Morris even is).
AND I do need something that allows for more features to stay organized. The old phone also pretty bare bones as far as cell phones go, it worked as a phone & that was all I was looking for before. Anyway, things have changed & I was wanting something that does more. I was eligible last year & just never choose something else. I am horribly cheap when it comes to buying things for myself. I LOVE buying things for others, but for myself I just can’t do it.
Hubby knows this about me & decided that for my birthday he would surprise me with a BlackBerry Curve 8330. The kids helped pick the color, it’s sort of a pinkish purple. The smudges on the face of it are also complimentary of my lovely children, who were very excited to have me open it yesterday. As they handed me the package Mr. G even exclaimed “Mommy, it’s a Blackberry!!”

Now I can have more features than I know what to do with. The two biggies that I’m loving are the calendar so I can attempt organization & the ability to easily check email without having to get on my laptop. That email feature alone is a huge bonus when dealing with overly stressed students emailing me before a final exam to just make sure they are going to the right place. Plus, I’m email neurotic. I admit it. I have problems.
I’m sure before I know it I’ll have CrackBerry addiction. But I don’t care. Right now I’m just happy that Hubby picked up on something that I wanted & got it for me. We also had a very nice dinner out, just the two of us. It was nice to talk to each other.
*I don’t work for BlackBerry, I wasn’t paid by them, & I didn’t get any free “swag” from them either for this post (although I’ll admit that would be cool). I’m just very excited about my present. My Hubby just rocks. He also hasn’t gotten his yet because his phone isn’t up for renewal. I’m thinking he definitely needs one when the time comes.

I resisted BB too…until I got one and now want to kiss it every night before bed. I LOVE IT. Congrats and enjoy…the addiction can be mild and feels oh so good. LOL.
Have fun.
I am a total techie GEEK. There is nothing like a great phone that organizes everything. I’m an iphone person, but Blackberry or Iphone….I love that I’m not attached to my pc anymore. I just need to keep reminding myself to keep my eyes on the road and my son instead of the phone.
Having a blackberry sounds fun
My cell contract is almost up. I’ve been thinking about a BlackBerry. Keep hearing such positive things, such as your endorsement. Thanks for the info. SITS sent me…glad they did!

This is my first visit to your blog – I saw your comment on Carleen’s LifeLiberty and Good Coffee blog! Happy b-day! I just got a new phone that has a querty keyboard so I can do text messages. I’m a tech moron so not sure I could handle a blackberry!
Maybe by the time this contract is up and I’m ready for something else!! I like your blog and added it to my google reader! Come on by and visit me sometime!
Yes, I’m already developing a Crackberry thumb. I really can’t wait to get Hubby his own, he deserves it. He works his butt off, he should get some fun. Plus then we can apparently sync up easier & invite each other to things, which would be nice given life is getting busier by the second.
btw–D, LMAO. Too funny!!!
