3 for 3 Friday: Chris Brown Own Up, Johnny Cash Rock Out, & A Tweet Answered

Reading:

About Chris Brown taking on Oprah in the latest issue of People. Brown is obviously NOT ready to take responsibility for his actions. Getting upset because Oprah stated he needed counseling for being abusive? Claiming that she should have given him some special treatment in this particular situation because he had “helped” her out? Is he kidding? Domestic violence is a serious problem, Chris Brown grew up in a home where violence occurred on a regular basis. It’s not uncommon that kids who grew up in homes like this end up in similar situations as adults. Counseling that addresses abuse specifically can help to break the cycle. No special passes on beating your girlfriend up because you once sang for a charitable cause.

If you know of anyone who is experiencing Domestic Violence, check out the National Domestic Violence Hotline for help.

Listening:

Johnny Cash’s American IV: The Man Comes Around. I really love Johnny Cash. I have pretty much everything he has recorded, my Hubby never really listened to him until I introduced him to the Man in Black, Hubby’s been a fan ever since. Johnny Cash was a complicated guy. When I think of him I think of the saying that sinners can make the best saints.

This is: God’s Gonna Cut You Down.

Watching:

Watching the response that I was given from @Disabilitygov to a tweet I sent about how the proposed health care reform addresses the needs of the disabled. It’s important to me to try to sort through all the information out there on health care reform as I make an informed decision about the process. Right now, looking at the financial side of the plan, I just don’t see how the federal government can feasibly wade into providing health care for all (even though I DO want everyone to have health care) given the long term fiscal issues Medicare & Medicaid already have and the issues that social democracies in Europe have providing care (every system has issues, no system will be a fix to all problems). BUT I’m still wanting to get all the information so I’m well informed about what’s going on.

Here’s the link for the video regarding the disabled persons within the health care reform discussion: http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Health-Insurance-Reform-and-Disability/

Chris Brown has some serious issues.
Thank you for that video! I love Johnny Cash, and I love great music videos.
Health care is complicated, but I think we can all agree that our system needs some fixing. Now if we can all work together to fix it . . . .
