I get told that Mr. G & D-man were big babies. D-man was just under 9 lbs & Mr. G just over 9lbs. However, women in my family have had bigger babies & these guys were little minis in comparison to my brother who was nearly 11 lbs at birth. The kid was like a 3 month old when he was born. My uterus just hurts thinking about it.
Then I read about this lady in Indonesia who gave birth to a baby boy that weighed 19.2 lbs. He was born via c-section & was 2 ft long! He most likely got so large due to mom having gestational diabetes. My uterus I think curled up into a little ball rocked back & forth & begged that I never do that to it. I can state that I agree with my uterus. I don’t think I ever want to carry a 6 month old inside there, I am not even able to comprehend HOW a baby that size fits in there.
Still the little (err, BIG) guy is a real cutey pie. Practically the same size as D-man who is 6 months old. But a cutey pie nonetheless.

Oh my! My oldest was 10lb 11oz. My sister beat me with one of hers at 10lb 14oz.
But wow! 19? I know some women really enjoy being pregnant and want to put it off… but this is ridiculous!

This is seriously horrifying. My daughter didn’t even weigh 19 pounds at a year old!
I saw this on the news this evening too. I wasn’t listening (Son driving a toy car up my leg was distracting me) but in our news report they said the Dr. thought he had grown that big because the mother had been taking ___(insert the bit i didn’t hear, here)___ and so mother-to-be be warned!
I wish I had heard it now! but yes. OW. My son was jut under 9lb too and I remember when they told me he was going to be a “big” baby at the Birth centre I had these nightmares about walking my newborn out of the hospital and never getting to have the “little guy” experience. but even at 9lb they are little sweeties.
i just wanted to cry when I heard of this – cry of course in pain – just thinking of that made my uterus hurt as well!!!!! I was lucky with all my babies just under 7 1/2 lbs. My 8 month old is not even 19 lbs. yet (and my 2 year old is only 25 lbs.). I could not even imagine!!!!
There are no words. Wow.
It’s just unbelievable. I hope Mom and baby are okay.
Emily weighed 13 lbs. 3 1/2 oz. and was 24″ long. If I still had a uterus, it would still be screaming.
