Photo from ESPN cover for Body Issue
I know that I’ve featured several Glamour Magazine photos of nudes. This isn’t Glamour. It’s one of the covers for ESPN’s Body Issue hitting stands this Friday (October 9th). And since I noticed the moves by Glamour I wanted to show what ESPN was doing. Even if it’s like ENOUGH WITH THE NUDES ALREADY!! It’s not me, it’s the media. They are nudie obsessed.
I do think this cover is a great step. Showing more diverse bodies, in all forms. In fact, all the covers together show a wide variety of bodies albeit highly athletic. I’m not athletic. I like to watch sports not do them. However, I appreciate ESPN’s move toward including diverse bodies. Because really bodies come in all forms.
The woman featured is Sarah Reinersten. Sarah’s the first female leg amputee to complete the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. She’s also taking a big leap for body image across media with her cover.
It’s not often we see the beauty of a woman’s body or man’s body (for that matter) after amputation.
What do you all think? Will it get people to stop and think about how diverse bodies can be?

She is gorgeous!
Well, she’s just beautiful.
Great cover. I think if we saw more of this “nudie obsession,” the world would be a much healthier place.
WOOT! I’m all for it – she’s absolutely gorgeous! One small step for man…..
She’s gorgeous, but I think the “nude thing” has been done to death. Put some clothes on already!

Wow! That’s definitely a provocative cover. I sort of like the nude trend. I mean it’s fascinating, we all have the same parts, but I love seeing all their different forms.
Body issues indeed. LOVE the cover. Amazing athlete and hot. Bravo to ESPN.
Ralph Lauren should take a hint and follow suit.
I have a friend who lost ALL of her hair. Even her lashes/brows. ALL GONE!! This is a big beauty image issue to over come.
Found this blog through google, great work man! Keep up the good work!
