Ok, if you have not seen this you have to.
The model is Model Filippa Hamilton and she was photoshopped in the above ad to look thinner. Even though she’s already 5’10” and 120 pounds.
Also, Hamilton said on the Today Show she was fired because she “couldn’t fit in their clothes anymore.” Although she’s been the SAME size since she started with Ralph Lauren 8 years ago! She’s not fat by anyone’s standards, except maybe Ralph Lauren’s. She came out about why she was fired after the photoshopped ad surfaced.
This ad is an insult to her & to women across the board, because it perpetuates a totally unrealistic body image expectation one that is PURE FANTASY! Since it’s FAKE! I’m thinking Lauren could take a few hints from Glamour & maybe a few tips on how to photoshop without making women look like they are LOLLIPOPS!!
Here she is another ad looking more human & certainly not fat.
If she couldn’t fit into their sample sizes, then that’s a scarey thought. One that is highly unhealthy, since there is a really small percentage of the female population that is naturally that thin (note NATURALLY). For most women getting extremely thin puts their health at risk. Most women are not naturally able to be extremely thin & by most standards Hamilton is really thin.

This is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Amazing. That first image is so scary to even look at, I can’t fathom how they think it’s going to sell clothing.
Apparently they only want to sell clothes for women that look like they belong on the Nightmare before Christmas set…
When I got married I weighed 116 lbs. At 5.5 – I was told by my doctor that I was dangerously thin and probably would be unable to conceive.
120 at 5.10 – Ralph Lauren and company need to have their heads examined.
And that photoshopped pic? Disgusting!
This is crazy! They need to be shut down. That is the kind of thing that hurts so many young women who are not overweight at all.
So sad.
Wow. I’m 5’10. And I’m not 120…I’m 30 pounds the OTHER direction…I’d probably be like, immobile at 120….
Granted, I’d prefer to be 140…
DISGUSTING. Seriously. Absolutely shocking. I’m so glad she went public with this! No more Ralph Lauren for me.

OMG, how on earth can they say she’s fat??? I think she has a beautiful body. Ralph Lauren is gonna see a serious nosedive in his sales, I have a feeling.
