Le Creuset Giveaway: Food Made in Love

by beth on November 30, 2009

I was thinking about how the upcoming holidays and end of the year mean food, family, fun, and did I mention FOOD??? And now that I have more free time, thanks to being done with my degree, I can devote myself to doing more this holiday seasons. For example, I will be making more food in love. Watch out apple puff pastry tart and apple butter, you have some competition coming!

It is also my love of food and family that made me think this CyberMonday that maybe one of you might want these to help when cooking for those around you. Or maybe you know a cook that would be over the moon to receive a great gift from you this year.

This Le Creuset 10.5 x 7 Baking Dish in Cherry…

Stoneware 10.5'x7' Baking Dish in Cherry with FREE 7'x5' with Bonus Dish

If you notice there is a smaller dish, the smaller dish is 7 x 5. Perfect for a small side. I often use a small dish for making Mamacita a special side, that does not have the cow diary she can’t eat. Also, BOTH the larger dish and the smaller dish can be put in the microwave, oven, or the broiler. They don’t hold smells in either, which is nice if you are making a strong dish. I mean no one wants to taste asparagus in every dish for the next 10 years, with these that won’t happen.

Here is a close-up of the 10.5 x 7 Baking Dish, the color is smashing.

Le Creuset 10.5x 7 Baking Dish in Cherry

I love, love, love Le Creuset. It’s so durable and one of those brands that you will have in your kitchen for a lifetime. Once you go Le Creuset you don’t go back.

Le Creuset 4' Mini Cool Tool in Cherry (Set of 2)

You can put the smaller dish on one of these Mini Cool Tools in Cherry (it is a set of 2) to cool off or you can use the Mini Cool Tools to open jars, as a non-skid mat.

To enter this CyberMonday contest, all you need to do is answer the following question:

“What is your favorite holiday dish to eat?”

It can be any holiday or tradition that you celebrate. I mean that dish that you wait for, can’t get enough of, and it holds special memories. You know that dish that you can almost taste and smell just by thinking of it.

For me, after we get up the last of our Christmas decorations on Christmas morning–yes, we don’t finish the very last thing until then. I take full advantage of Advent being no rush. Anyway, the first thing I want to take a bite out of a sticky bun. My Hubby makes the best sticky buns ever! We all help, but he is in charge. Can I tell you that I married an amazing man in the kitchen & I just can’t get enough of his buns.

The Rules

One Comment Entry per person

No Entries after 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

One Winner

Winner will be Announced by Friday, December 4th, 2009

All three Le Creuset items (10.5 x 7 Baking Dish, 7 x 5 Baking Dish, and Set of 2 Mini Cool Tools) in Cherry Red.

_____________________________________________________
And a BIG Thank you so much to CSN Stores.com for providing these wonderful items for one of you to win! You are a great place to cook with.

I love Le Crueset! I always have pan envy whenever I see them in the homegoods section :-p

Hm…my favorite dish to eat around the holidays (urk, there’s so many to choose from!)

I’d have to say that my favorite dish is my mother’s green bean bake. I know that it’s just the recipe on the back of the can, and I know that it’s just a dish that was concocted back in the Depression so that housewives could save a little money. I also know that probably half of America makes the same dish. But, I like that. It’s something my mother makes, and her mother made, and her mother before her made, and I know I’ve eaten it for as long as I can remember.

4 cristine November 30, 2009 at 11:35 am

And what do you know?! Either of those festive holiday treats could be made in those lovely baking dishes!

Everyone looks forward to our Christmas eve tradition of the heavenly spiced meat pie with a potato pastry. And we top it all off with some of my mom’s homemade pickles and relishes– we’ve celebrated with this meal for almost 15 years now

144 Maureeng Brown December 1, 2009 at 8:11 am

Every year when my mom comes to stay for the holidays she always makes a batch of homemad meat and vegetable pies. Usually 12. We always have 1 or 2 for dinner that night, but then freeze the rest. Its great for those friends and family who decide to just “drop in” just throw them in the oven for 20 mins and a very fresh tasting treat of meat, vegatable, and mmmmmm pastry.

145 Kathleen December 1, 2009 at 8:18 am

I sadly don’t own any Le Creuset (yet) so I’d love to win!

My favorite dish is my mother-in-law’s nut roll, which she only makes at Christmas and in limited quantities at that. We usually get one roll in our gifts, and my husband and I try to make it last as long as we can.

146 Carol G December 1, 2009 at 8:29 am

I know this is going to sound crazy, but saurkraut is my favorite holiday dish. It is a family tradition that goes back many generations. We grow cabbage in the summer. Bottle it together. This part wasn’t so fun as a child, but is awesome to do with my mom and siblings now that we’re all grown up. Then, we let it set and open it up in time for the holidays. We use it at each holiday dinner throughout the year until summer rolls around again and then we grow the cabbage and start the process all over. It’s delicious and is wrapped up with all sorts of awesome family memories :) .

Reindeer cookies would be my second choice!!!

263 Susan C December 2, 2009 at 12:11 am

I love a good mince tart. My late aunt Rita used to make wonderful pastry, and her mince tarts would convert even the most ardent mince-hater. I also yearn for her chocolate roll cookies; I don’t have the recipe, but they have coloured mini-marshmallows in them. That’s something I would normally run from, but Reta’s cookies were fabulous. And she was my favourite aunt. (She would have loved these LeCreuset dishes….)

Oh, this is an extremely hard question to answer. If I would have to say one dish that I would go crazy to not have on a holiday would be my husband’s gravy. Not technically a dish, but man it would be sad without it. I also couldn’t possibly live without the stuffing or the turkey or the homemade jello salad. I am such a foodie:) Thanks for the awesome giveaway. I just love Le Creuset!

My favorite holiday dish is stuffing with mashed potatoes topped with Hain gravy and lingonberry sauce. I’m the only one in my family who doesn’t eat turkey so I’ve always felt a bit left out. I really love stuffing and mashed potatoes but I purposely refrain from eating it the entire year in order to be able to appropriately savor it so I don’t feel bummed out about not having some special holiday meal to eat.

I really love Le Creuset, thank you so much for the giveaway!

“Can I tell you that I married an amazing man in the kitchen & I just can’t get enough of his buns.” Hee hee!

I knew you would have many people entering for this! If it is a food or kitchen prize it is overwhelming!

My fav dish is much like sticky buns. You take the same sweet dough and put it in a greased pie pan. Let it rise, then put thumb holes all over the top and make them deep. Fill each hole with butter pieces and then light brown sugar in each hole. Sounds too easy to be good, but boy is it! Bake and taste! It is called Moravian Sugar Cake and maybe your hubby can make this one time. Those are the only ingredients-dough, butter and sugar. So yum!

I absolutely love my turkey stuffing. As a new bride with absolutely no cooking experience I got the recipe out of a Betty Crocker cookbook. I’ve made very few adjustments over the years and it tastes better than any other I’ve ever tried.
Of course pumpkin pie is a close second. We never have it any time other than the holidays.
