Conan O’Brien Slams NBC With Laughs

I love Conan O’Brien. I’m not going to lie about it or hide it. We are massive Conan fans here at casa de confusion. We are not anti-Leno by any stretch, trust me Hubby is one of the few people who actually watch Leno at 10 p.m. However, I think NBC has managed to insult both Conan and Leno not to mention the viewers at home with its inability to manage the late-night line-up & screw this up BIG TIME. Now NBC wants to push Conan back & let Jay Leno start an hour later (no longer at 10pm).

Wonder if NBC is hoping Conan would just go up in flames & disappear into thin air? Or if Conan isn’t wondering if NBC thinks this way?

I love your blog name as I read some comments on Pioneer Woman and had to drop by and check out what I thought might be a sense of humour I could relate to. Love the references to casa de confusion. I will be looking forward to perusing the rest of your blog.

Personally, I think Jay’s had his day in the sun. It’s time for him to retire and let Conan take over…I love him.

From what I remember he never retired the first time but NBC fired him, then brought him back & is now screwing everyone over.

I am obsessed with Conan. He’s so much funnier than lame Jay Leno, it’s not even a competition.

Have you seen the statement Conan issued about all of this? Talk about awesome sauce. He is one cool dude.

I did see the statement, I loved the opening of it “People of the World.” Conan isn’t stupid, he’s going to play hardball with this & he should.

I am with Amber. I haven’t caught up on all of this, but I *heart* Conan, too!

I’d choose Conan too, which is why I was happy to see him on the Tonight Show. NBC has a habit of screwing over its talent though.

Hopefully, Conan will be left alone, but, if not, I believe I could handle Big Red and The Booger. :o )

Conan will find a good fit & have success either way, but NBC has managed to tick everyone off with this whole thing.

I just saw on the news it’s a trickle effect, beginning with the affiliates. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Yes, the affiliates are a huge part of this. I can’t imagine Leno would work with a 1/2 show & doing an hour makes no sense because the affiliates would lose their 11 pm news. I seriously think NBC is trying to get Conan to leave to get out its end of the contract & put Leno back into the Tonight Show.

I have never been a Conan fan…my mom always watched Leno. Unfortunately for me I go to sleep too early to watch either of them now, so I guess I don’t have an opinion on who goes where. Sad that NBC can’t get their act together though!

Really it is sad that they can’t because it’s a bad business model & leaves a bad taste.

Leno is making me so ANGRY! He had his time. He planned his retirement years in advance and the changed his mind?? Who does that? Let the younger (and funnier) guy have his day too! Geez! Get over yourself Leno!

I think part of the problem is that Leno didn’t actually retire but was fired (forced retirement?). Leno also has been screwed by NBC. He did plan on leaving but not in that way or time, so that adds another dimension to this whole thing. Conan should take over The Tonight Show, but I think NBC handled the whole thing wrong from the get-go. Leading to this whole mess.

Haha! Your husband is not the only one tuning into Jay at 10:00. I am right there with him. I have to admit that I am more than a bit addicted to Jay-Walking.

It never ceases to make me laugh. :)

Jay-Walking & the headlines are my Hubby’s favorites. :)

I’m with you. I LOVE Conan. I think he is one of the funniest people in the history of ever. Leno…not so much. I can’t believe they are trying to change his timeslot again! (This is the first I’ve heard of it!)

Found you through Theta Mom! Great blog!

I love Conan! So sad to see him go – he’s a true class act and the best host that the Tonight Show ever had. He will be missed. Don’t ever change, Conan! We love you!
