Cookie Time

by beth on January 21, 2010

I was pleasantly surprised when watching Mr. G, Mamacita, and D-man have cookie time together. Mr. J was not home at the time & don’t get him started on how “ALL THE FUN STUFF HAPPENS WHEN I AM NOT HOME!” his exact words. When really dude NOTHING much happens without you here. But try explaining that to an almost 7 year old (ugh, I’m still cringing at him being almost 7, my baby.) I mean really I’m writing a post about the other rabble-rousers eating cookies. This post is about NOTHING. I’m navel-gazing. It’s almost like a member of Congress, I mean seriously talk about some navel-gazers. What have those folks really done for me lately? NOTHING. Yet, we have 24 hour news networks devoted to them. And I’m the navel gazer???

Anyway, back to me & my beautiful nothingness. While watching them they all ate together nicely.

They played with their cookies together nicely. Yes, I let them play with their food. Horrible Mother I am.

And Mr. G (who did I tell you is 5 now! Um, when did my kids get SO OLD??) shared one of his cookies with the D-man. It was a raging success. As is evident by D-man deciding to do the “see food” routine.

He WOULD NOT STOP. I was trying to get a picture of him looking cute with his siblings. Instead he gave me this picture. His siblings, including Mr. J who saw it later thought it was THE. FUNNIEST. THING. EVER. Mr. G’s exact words while laughing his head off “I just LOVE THAT PICTURE!!” I told you the kid’s a born comic he knows where the money is–bodily functions. He fits in with the rest of the gang’s sense of humor.

Too bad it just makes me think of “Show Mommy how the piggies eat.” And I cringe in true horror at the thought of that scene in A Christmas Story. Remember I am the woman who doesn’t even let her food touch. Ah, the HORROR at the mixing & eating of food in such a crazed manner. But hey, D-man knows that movie is bank given it’s on the ENTIRE (YES, ENTIRE) Christmas Day & his Father (my Beloved Hubby) tortures me with that scene EVERY YEAR! Let’s hope he gets a movie deal outta this about NOTHING so I can really do some true navel-gazing.

I guess it’s the Universe’s way of challenging your food hang ups.

Somehow D-man manages to look adorable with food in his mouth.

I hate that movie.
Your kids are so adorable! And D-man is being like almost every other kid or kids like mine, who don’t smile but make silly ugly faces when I try to take their pictures. Is it too hard to smile?

So cute!

That scene grosses me out, too. But, I’m in a house full of boys and unfortunately, they tend to eat like that. My youngest two will both lick their plates clean if I don’t clear them in time!

Stopping in from SITS.

Always great when the kids get along! We had the bodily functions talk last night… About how the boys REALLY seemed to enjoy them. Yea. Tons o’ fun.
