I got a catalog in the mail to the house yesterday for the new Lands’ End clothing line, Canvas.
And I’m loving it. I mean really, really, really loving it. I should probably, like, do work but I’d rather fantasy shop.
Who needs work? I have a whole new wardrobe awaiting me.
It’s got a very comfortable chic to it.
I could wear it to work, taking the kids to school, Church, and just schlepping around in something other than my trusty jeans or black yoga pants.
I’m wondering if it’s healthy to do this much fantasizing about being properly dressed in public. By proper I mean in clean clothing that hasn’t been worn everyday for the last 6 months by me upon running errands. Clothing that I didn’t find in a ball on the floor & decide it was OK to wear yet AGAIN!
No wonder the kids are starting to act like they don’t know me when we are out in public & we see friends.
Now that I’m thinking about it maybe I need to go shopping for real.

I know exactly where you’re coming from! As a writer, I spend most of my day in fuzzy jammie pants and a t-shirt. At least it’s comfy!
My sister, once, when her 4 kids were all small, put on her crumpled-on-the-floor-jeans from the day before and went to a school meeting. As she walked into the classroom, she felt something slide out of her pant leg. It was her panties from the day before that had been in her jeans. She said, to this day, hands down, most embarrassing moment of her life!
I fantasize over the Lands End catalog too… the winter one was awesome as well, bright knit sweaters and adorable shoes that now that I’m thinking about it, I’m fairly certain the shoes wouldn’t have seen much of the outside of the house this year with all the snow we’ve had. But the new canvas line is so cute too! gosh, I need to shop…
signed,
frightfully wearing the same shirt and jeans from two days ago…
I usually wear my fuzzy sleep pants and a tank top, or t-shirt. Now that I have a job to go to, 3-4 days of the week, I HAVE to get dressed! I realized this morning…everything I have is post-pregnancy, and not all the exciting to wear to work! Comfortable, yes, but doesn’t have the taylored look I’d love to have! *sigh*
I guess I’ll have to go shopping for clothes soon, Goodwill, here I come! LOL
The pieces you picked are beautiful.
Plus, the model is one of my favorites. She models for J.Crew too, and everything she models I suddenly want b/c I know it will look good with my coloring. If only I were her size, too.
PS. THank you for the Pretty Link tip. I inserted it into my post and linked back to you.
I knew it was bad, when I just decided “as a rule” that I would wear my outfits two days in a row, since no one except my family saw me anyway. When outside, as least here, the winter coat and boots looked after any fashion sense or lack thereof, showing beneath. I figured that I wouldn’t have to figure out if something was really dirty or not, instead I would just bin them after day two. Maybe I better start subscribing to some fashion magazines. I need inspiration.

I too fantasize about being properly dresses as my maternity clothes are slowly getting stained and I just don’t want to shell out any more money for them. Clothes without grease stains. Sigh.
