I think Heather over at ThetaMom.com is really awesome, we started blogging around the same time & she’s a really supportive person to have in your blogging corner. However, she may have lost her mind because she is having me as the first featured blogger for her new community.
See, Heather recently started a totally rad ThetaMom Community as a place for bloggers & those who enjoy reading blogs to make new friends. And yep, I described TMC as rad & yes it’s 1985 in my mind. I’m writing this while wearing neon, stone washed jeans & a giant set of bangles. Stop judging me you know you love stone wash.
Anyway, I love the idea & when she announced it was opening I was right on that. Like white on rice or something maybe soy sauce on rice since I also like brown rice but I digress. I swear I think I have a point. Point is (see I had one) the community is open & when she contacted me to be the first featured blogger I fell outta my chair squealing with excitement like a schoolgirl, which technically I just stopped being, so what if I’m old I can still squeal because I’m really thankful for the opportunity to meet new folks. If have never been over to Heathers, take the time to visit Heather’s blog, you’ll enjoy the visit.
And now I’m rolling out the welcome mat to those who are making their way over here. I figure I while doing that I should also introduce myself.
I’m Beth.
I blog about my life, family, parenting, food, and homemaking design.
I have four kids. My children are the rabble-rousing sort. On occasion they do things like chase each other around with poop made of playdoh, laugh as I leak breast-milk on myself even as innocent infants they know pure comic gold when they see it & all around they are the best human beings I’ve ever come into contact with. I am in awe of the fact I get to be their mother.
I’m also married. He is my best friend, I know how sick. Next thing you know I’m going to tell you he’s great or something. Which he is because he is a cute nerd with a wicked sense of humor who is also great in the kitchen. It’s an ongoing story here that is continuing to be updated regularly because I had someone ask how we got together, why didn’t we ever move & who has kids during grad school (meaning ARE YOU CRAZY?!). So I figured I’d explain some of these things with the story of our lives, because hey WHO NEEDS PRIVACY? The How I Met Your Father series attempts to explain the back story of how two college kids fell in love, never moved, and managed to build a life together.
I also finished graduate school last year, I teach part-time saving students from stabbing pencils in their eyes and work on various projects. During my last year I thought why not write a blog? Because you know I didn’t have enough going on!!
Well, turns out the blog has been a HUGE lifesaver. See, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression over the summer. We’ve since broken up, but sometimes PPD tries to get me to take him back but I’m not falling for it. Without the support that comes from the people I’ve meet here & those who I’ve been so greatly blessed with in my everyday life I might have continued to fall down the rabbit hole.
So, um, yeah, if you made it through that you deserve a big drink because I got distracted by line 4 & I wrote it. Feel free to make one even if it’s 6 in the morning because according to many people Bailey’s Irish Creamer isn’t really alcohol it’s just creamer; in fact, many things aren’t. Pretty much anything that is alcohol apparently might not really be alcohol under the right conditions. Although if you get arrested don’t try to use this as a legal justification because I’m pretty sure it doesn’t count.
And again welcome to casa de confusion & thank you for everyone who comes here on a regular basis to read. I love that I have gotten the opportunity to meet you all & get met new people everyday. You have no idea how awesome I think you all are & how totally thankful I am to you all. I mean really, truly, you are all AWESOME SAUCE, which is like the best kind of awesome EVER & I KNOW these things even if I still think it’s 1985.

Yay for 1985 and I love you whole theory on Bailey’s. I’m with you on that!
So glad to have the opportunity to showcase you!
xoxo
Thank you again for the opportunity
Everyone is so great!
Congrats on being featured!! I am following your blog…you are wickedly funny too, bet your house is filled with laughter. Have a great day!
Thanks, we do have a pretty good time here at casa de confusion.
Congrats on your TMC feature! Anyone who says I can have Bailey’s in my coffee at 6 AM is cool in my book! Did I mention that I work until 6:30 in the morning?
See, I knew someone would be in need having that information. It’s like I’m a blogging saint, LOL.
I love how you write!
Thank you so much
Hi Beth!
Just over from TMC, congratulations on being the first featured blogger on TMC – what an honour! Although I can see why Theta Mom has featured you blog, so many funny stories. I think I’m going to be easily distracted this afternoon! I’m a new follower now too.
I like your Bailey’s theory and I never thought of using it as a creamer. Next time run out of milk I’m going to try that. Have a great day!
Jade
Thank you for the congrats, I’m glad to help on the back-up creamer idea
Hi Beth,
I am following from TMC.. Congratulations on being the FIRST featured blogger. How exciting is that?
It’s been so exciting! And it’s great to meet you & everyone else. I’m looking forward to getting around to everyone’s blogs too
Yay featured!! You’re super awesome. But we already knew that
Well the fact that I tell everyone about how awesome I am does help, LOL.
Congrats on your feature!!
We apparently have some things in comment. I was a freshman in college in 1997 and I live in Michigan. I’m not sure, but it sounded like you were describing Michigan State, when I went back and looked at your “How I Met your Father” posts, with Mr. Green Hair. Am I right?
Not State, but Wayne. Although if it were State my husband would have been in heaven since he would have loved to have gone away to school. Did you graduate from there?
Ahh, WSU. The green makes sense!
No, I didn’t go to State. I graduated from Central Mich. Univ. I had a friend that went to WSU though.
I’m originally from the West side of the state, but relocated over to the East side, about an hour north of Detroit, when I graduated from college.
It’s a small world!
Very cool! It is a small world, I know a few people who went to CMU. Yea for us Michigan girls
Congrats on your FB day from TMC ! Have a great day & enjoy all your comments.
Thanks Connie!! It’s been a really great day.
I love your witt! Wonderful “get to know me” intro for being the featured blogger from TMC. Congrats and enjoy your day. I can’t wait to read more.
Love your writing style, witty and fun! Congrats on being the first featured blog on TMC!
Glad TMC led me to your blog. Can’t wait to read more.
Congrats! I was already following you! I thought so. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed your blog but haven’t visited it nearly as often as I would have liked so I am going to change that. I really like humor and story telling! Excited to take part in your journey!

Hi Emma! Thank you, it’s been a fun day.
Beth!
How wonderful, Theta mom has great taste … as you know I stalk regularly, ever since I found your daily musings a few months back.
I’m glad many more will be able to find your great sense of humour and sardonic wit!
Congrats!

I seem to be loving the exclamation point today!
Dana,
I love exclamation points!! Thank you for being so supportive, you rock!!
Okay, I’m loving the creamer. Who knew?? Happy Featured Blogger day!!
Thanks Ashley, it is a good creamer, LOL.
Congrats on being featured! We just joined Theta Mom today!!
Welcome here & to Theta Mom. I hope you love the community. Your blog name also made me smile.
ok so clearly we were separated at bloggy birth.
I too suffered PPD — with both kids… and also married an adorable geek who is my BFF…
and I also noticed you called your daughter Mamacita– which Ive been calling my daughter since she is born. Too funny.
Ok I must go read on to some more of your posts. I’ve found so many great bloggers through Theta Mom. She rocks- doesnt she?
We must have been separated. LOL. It’s great to *meet* you my long-lost bloggy sister.
And I agree Heather does rock.
Congratulations on being featured on Theta Mom! And you’re the first, too! That is such a fabulous treat! I absolutely love your blog, and I read quite a few of your posts, but I really like the geyser breast one. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shot my son in the face with his own breakfast. And once I realized what a great trick it was, I shot my husband all the time. Can’t wait to keep up with you and your blog! Keep up the fantastic work.
Ha! Tricia that’s too funny. You really did have a real geyser on hand there. Thanks too for the great words!
Congrats on being the first feature blogger. I am already a follower of you. I love reading your blog. And I think I originally found you from a comment on theta mom a couple months back.
Thank you! It’s been a great time, I can’t wait to see who else will be featured in the future.
Hello!
It’s great to *meet* you!
And congrats on being the very FIRST Featured Blogger!!! How fun!
It’s great *meeting* you too! I love the blogging world & getting meet new folks
Sounds like our kids would get along fabulously! I swear that my son Chad is secretly Jim Carrey’s son! I’m not sure how it happened… musta been the creamer!
Congrats!
Ha! I love that. I wonder too how my kids got to have such wild & fun senses of humors. If only I was as creative as they are.
Hey Beth!
Congratulations on the feature. That picture of you is beautiful!

See.. now I have been trying to convince people for years that Baily’s is more of a creamer and should always be put in your morning coffee to start the day out! Awesome post, very witty! Ill deffinitly be saving your blog for future reads!
Enjoy you Theta day. I hope the day is sunny for you.
You’re awesome! Love your blog, your recipies, everything!
