Let Him Eat Cake

by beth on March 30, 2010

D-man was for his first birthday party, we had to reschedule the family party to this past weekend.   So he had cake not once but twice.

The first time we gave him a small piece when he started feeling better.  It was his first time ever having cake.  I know I am such a mean Mom, I make them wait until they are officially one to get cake.

The second time, a week later, he had a piece of his very own Backyardigans Pablo cake.  He had cake eating down to a science by then.  He also had the “who me, I’m not doing anything, just eatin’ some cake” look of surprise down pat.

He tried to eat with a fork.  Or at least lick every crumb up off the fork.  Hey, he’s only one! Close enough.

And if you ask me…I love baby hands, cakey beautiful baby hands. By far the best thing.  Those sweet chubby little hands cake & all.

Very cute.

My daughter freaked out over her cake when she turned one.

He was chill about it, but definitely dug in.

I thought my daughter didn’t like cake until she tried some of her aunt’s birthday cake. Chocolate Mouse apparently is a million times more tastey than carrot! I guess I should have known, Chocolate Mouse is my favorite too. =)

Chocolate Mousse is a pretty sweet treat. Now I’m going to be thinking about all day.
