We had a lot of fun yesterday. Hubby made a hearty breakfast of eggs & bacon. After we headed to Mass & then home.
It turns out baskets were awaiting those rabble-rousing children of ours in their beds. Each kiddo got a package of flower seeds to plant in the yard. They’re excited to see how their garden turns out.
And chocolate bunnies had to be eaten. I love that the bunny looks like Peter Rabbit. He soon was devoured. Ah the joys of the once a year chocolate bunny. The kids all went for the ears first, just like I do.
How do you eat your chocolate bunny?
We went over to Hubby’s parents house. Then Egg hunts were had. Let’s just say kids running everywhere looking for eggs. We had to slow down the oldest to let the littlest ones catch back up. It was sweet to watch Mr. J (who was a great egg detective) give a few of his eggs to his younger cousin. I loved that.
Snacks were laid out.
It wouldn’t be Easter without some deviled eggs.
I tried not to eat everything in sight. Although the pineapple didn’t stand a chance. I’m a pineapple lover. When I was pregnant I had heard pineapple could help stimulate labor, it was the perfect excuse to make a fruit salad and eat all the pineapple in it.
We had a funny wine and subtle table wine by Peninsula Cellars (from here in Michigan, we had to represent) that was called Detention. This time it was Hubby who was a sucker for the fun label. It was not dry, which was appreciated by those who are anti-dry red wine.
We had little bunnies who visited and good times with lots of laughter. In all I’d say the day was a smashing success, dinner was ham and all the fixings (sorry I was too busy eating for pictures). When we were tucking everyone into bed Mr. G told me “I loved today” which was met with a chorus of me too! A nice ending indeed, then Hubby & I curled up together and thought me too!
How was your Sunday or weekend?

That sounds like an absolutely perfect Easter! How fun! And I definitely eat the ears first.
It was fun & the chocolate ears on the bunny are the best part
Cute! I’m a label snob too.
It’s the best kind of snob to be, you get all the fun labels that way
So cute! We ate a huge brunch and then headed to the beach!

The beach sounds lovely. I am hoping we get the chance to spend some time here around one of the lakes as the weather gets warmer.
Our day was similar, except I learned an important lesson. Next year…no solid chocolate bunnies. Only hollow ones…or peanut butter. Our 5 year old was still running around last night with messy hands and face and half a bunny still left. The 11 year old threw half of her bunny away. She just couldn’t eat anymore.
Hollow bunnies are the way to go. The solid ones are just too much & they are so messy.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter – and I agree, it just is not Easter wihtout those eggs!
It was wonderful, hope your Easter was too. The eggs are just a must
OMG those deviled eggs got me drooling! It’s been forever since I had them and the last time was on Easter
*mental note: gotta find a good recipe soon*
Great pictures btw.
Happy SITS Tuesday!
This batch of deviled eggs was courtesy of my Sister-in-Law, she usually brings them. My mom also has a to die for, simple, dish of deviled eggs that makes me smile every time I have one.
Now I’m thinking I should make some…
Mmmmm! This post just made me so hungry! I could really go for some of that cheese right now
My Easter was just an average day. The real fun came on Monday, when all the candy was 50% off!
Wondering who I am? Read my post: Who Are These People?!
