Yesterday I got out and worked on cleaning up some of the yard. While I was out I noticed some of the color that is popping up here & there. I love seeing color around the house. It helps after a long Winter.
Even if we got a little lucky & really didn’t have that long of Winter this year. It felt long. I am not a great Winter person, even though I have always had Winter & would not want to give it up. I still prefer days that are a little warmer and brighter.
Mamacita is sure that fairies live here. She said that they are dancing around even when we can’t see them. This made me wonder if she saw something dancing & then of course II thought it might have been a bumblebee, given my allergies to those guys I’d rather they stay in the cutesy decorative form. But nope there were no bumblebees so may be she was right & there are fairies. I’d rather deal with fairies than bees. Bees sting.
I hope if there are fairies around us that they can help us this season because we are trying our hand at blueberries. Growing berries reminds me of my Papa who had a bunch of wild berries in the backyard when I was growing up. I have fantasies of making blueberry pie, jam, tarts, and pancakes stacked high with blueberries. I know science says blueberries are really good for you, with antioxidants, but really I just think they taste good. I’m easy to please like that. Give me some sun, pretty colors and tasty treats and I’m all good. Now if only I could the fairies to do the rest of my yard work.

I love blueberries too – and we bought a bush last year that produced about 10 blueberries so am hoping and hoping that we get more this year! Jams, pies, buckles – that’s what I see in my future!
I see this in your future too, lots of blueberries. And then lots of blueberry foods, with beautiful pictures that I can drool over!
