Stories From Scraps

We’ve been looking to redecorate Mamacita’s room. She wants her room to have more of her in it. As part of this quest to show her off I’ve been looking with her at various prints online. I love prints that cause you to look twice and have a sense of humor in their beauty. My daughter has been amazing me with her choices, while looking at Joutomaa whose Etsy shop is full of stories from scraps that are handmade.  She thought this print, When The Flowers Are Sleeping, very fun, she wondered if elephants do fly at night!  I agree that it has a sense of whimsy to it.

She loved Balloon Trip as well.  I’m not sure if it was the zebra with the balloon or the fact it was pink.  Either way I agree with her that it would be fun to take off on a trip through the air and see the world all around me in a different light.   Of course I could get lost looking at all the different prints with my daughter helping me along.  It’s also wonderful to sit with her and to get to know her style more by looking at different pieces of art together.  I’m amazed by what she picks out!

Have you ever been amazed by what your children or others around you pick out as part of their style?

I love how this is her room, not her mom’s. I let my boys decide what to do,too, and their rooms are the way they like them now.
I go to some homes, and I think, “really? your daughter picked pink zebra stripes at 3 yrs old?”

My boys have no style.
My daughters does though. More in her clothing than in her decor at this point. She definitely knows what she likes and doesn’t like.

I like both of these prints as well. Can’t wait to see what you do with them.

I’m always drawn to the fun/humorous and the beautiful. It’s nice to see they can live together in harmony.

As for style, I heart Evan’s fashions. Capes, hats, boots, stripes. It rocks my world.

People’s style had always amazed me.

My daughter is so young and she already exhibits a sense of style. I love it.
