When looking for the perfect drink to make the backyard feel like you are on tropical island surrounded by an endless beach & beautiful sparkling water the Bahama Mama is your gal. Hubby & I have a Bahama Mama connection to being on our Hawaii Honeymoon (the last big nonworking-outside of Michigan-vacation we’ve taken in 7 years), one of the places we hung out at made awesome Bahama Mama’s. It got me thinking about mixing a batch up & how it will probably be at least another 17 years before a nonworking-outside of Michigan vacation happens, but we’ll always have fun tropical drinks.
What You Need:
1 Cup of Orange juice
1 Cup of Pineapple juice
1/2 Cup of Rum, light
1/2 Cup of Coconut rum
1/4 Cup of Rum, dark
2 Tablespoons of Grenadine
Ice for your pitcher
Cherries & Orange slices for topping with.
How To Put it Together:
You will simply layer the ingredients for making the drink in a large drink pitcher over ice. When you serve the drinks to your guests don’t forget to top your drink glasses with your fruit. I mean if it has fruit then you know the rules it suddenly becomes healthy! It’s magical or it could be that I find fruit being present an excuse to indulge, nah, it has to be that magical elves transform the drink from empty calories to health food with the presence of an orange slice.
After your drinks are served then sit back & enjoy the summer breeze with some good conversation & friends. You might also want to consider a healthy serving of snacks to nosh on while chatting. Because I can attest that having a good time is not much fun if you have a drink on an empty stomach & as always make sure you are drinking responsibly.

That looks so good and I’m so a sucker for those sweet Polynesian things with fruit sitting on them. Umbrellas help too.
Something about them says, relax.
Unwind.
