More Shrooms, Man

We discovered our neighborhood has been taken over by mushrooms.  We saw them out on our nature walk.  In yards, on the edge of the street in the grass, & hidden under trees.

Mamacita stopped to see if any fairies or other magical creatures lived under them.  Turns out the answer is No.  But she thinks maybe they might be there & just stepped out for a while.

My son kept calling them more-shrooms instead of mushrooms.  I couldn’t help but hear a mellowed voice in my head say “Man” every time he called them more-shrooms.   I felt like flashing a peace sign & putting some fringe on at the thought.

I’ve noticed the last few months that we’ve had mushrooms growing all over our yard as well… The other day I even noticed them growing inside my tomato pots!!! Although I must say ours and tiny compaired to those!!

My husband was surprised when I showed him the pictures too, he had seen some here & there but suddenly it was a forest of them.

We’ve had some humid rainy days & then some that are painfully dry. I think the humidity is doing us in.

We’ve got a ton of them here, too. Mostly in our backyard, near the foundation of the house. I’m thinking that probably doesn’t bode well for the moisture level near the foundation of the house–glad we’re renting.

We’ve only since 2 around our yard, but in neighbors yards they’ve taken over.
