Urban Roses

I love when you see flowers peeking out in places you don’t plan on them.  These roses brightened our day.

My sons wondered how they managed to pop out of the fencing.  One thought maybe they weren’t real.  They touched them to make sure they were real.  They were, thorns & all. Of course I told them they were real, but you know I’m only Mom.  What do I know?

Stopping to smell the roses isn’t something I’ve always let myself enjoy. In fact, there was a long time that even if I wanted to I felt that I shouldn’t.  I felt there was too much to do, too many things waiting, & doing anything else (particularly something as basic as fresh air) didn’t feel possible.   But now I’m taking the time, carving it out, & it’s been worth it. Especially when I get to share it with such my adorable gang of characters.

I love roses they are so beautiful, they are one of the first plants I planted at our new house. I’ve put a few near the front door, when we open it up they are thre climbing up the fence and I smell them often!

Have a lovely day,
Jade

We have some yellow by the front porch, I always grew up with them around & so when I find them in different places (especially ones I don’t expect) they just make me smile :)

I like that you are out there looking for the unexpected, and taking the time to appreciate it when it shows itself. And sharing it with your kids is the best.

I wasn’t always able to take the time, but as the days go by I realize if I don’t do it now I’m going to miss out on so much!

stopping by from SITS and a new follower ;)
I miss my roses badly, we got a really old bush from my hubby’s late gma and to our surprise even after reducing in over half it’s size it bloomed early this spring but none have been seen since.

I am a longtime lurker just coming out to say how much I love your blog. I have one kid and can barely handle her. I have no idea how you manage so much!

And my husband? He leaves his socks everywhere too. :)

And what is it with the socks? I swear I’m going to have to put up NO SOCKS ALLOWED ON MY FLOORS signs!
