Roasting Time

Another good part of Fall fires: roasting marshmallows & s’mores. The kids love that this can happen all times of the year.  They of course never turn down the chance to have a marshmallow.

Some of us like ours a little on the over cooked side.  Oh crispy marshmallow encased in carcinogen, how sweet you are!

It may or may not cause others to cringe in horror. He apparently did not share my love of the darkened marshmallow.

He inadvertently did share my love for the burned marshmallow.  But that’s really only because he hasn’t figured out how to actually roast it so it doesn’t catch on fire.  I am not sure he really wanted to burn it.

The only negative of s’mores is the need to bathe children after.  Turns out that some children can be very messy.  Go figure?  Kids can be messy!  Quick stop the presses.

Love the pictures. I love over roasted marshmallows. They are my favorites right up next to smores :)

I’m not a fan of the burnt ones, personally.

Another messy and slightly less known, but equally delicious, campfire treat:

Slice a banana down the middle, stuff it with mini-marshmallows and chocolate squares, and wrap it all up in tin foil as you would a corn cob. Drop it down into the coals of the fire for a good 10 minutes or so, then remove, let cool so you don’t burn yourself, and dig in.

That one is way too black for me. I love them a light golden color. Yum!

I will admit to loving burned marshmallows. I like burned hot dogs too! Love your pictures!
