Last week our family was enjoying a vacation with Mike’s parents and sister. We went Up North as us Michiganders call it. Up North to a Michigander can mean anything above the halfway point of the State. For me it specifically means thirty-minutes north of Traverse City, Michigan. Small towns, gentle rolling hills, cherry farms, wineries, Lake Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes, putting together puzzles, making a fire, along with limited cell phone & internet service depending on where you are, and the quiet stillness of slowing down to enjoy the day. It was beautiful. Relaxing. Nothing like getting up and hearing the sound of the water. Or being able to catch a view of it as you drink your morning coffee.
It was truly a great time.
And then we all had to come back to real life.
Back home.
In fact, before we even got home life hit us. It hit us hard. BAM! Saturday as we headed home Mamacita got car sick, very, very, very car sick. It was bad. I felt so bad for her, she said it just hit her all of a sudden, after we attempted to stop for lunch & needless to say we couldn’t stay stopped there for long. Then as we drove Mike got a call from work and before we even had the car unloaded he was working to fix a problem. Yesterday I felt sick, not sure why, but it wasn’t fun. And yeah, life was back to normal.
Now I am looking through pictures and already planning for the next time.
