Remember The Fallen

by beth on September 11, 2012

I have posted before on 9/11.

I will post next year, and the year after, and the year after.

I will never forget

We will never forget

Let us Remember Them

Everyone gave something on that day ten years ago

A piece of our collective humanity was lost

Our innocence in perceived safety was taken from us

As to what evil choices men will make

And while we all gave something on that bright, blue Tuesday morning

Some gave all they had that day ten years ago

Some gave all they were that September 11th

Some never came home

Some families and friends are still waiting

They were mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers

They were sons, daughters, husbands and wives

Family to grow old with

Friends to share a smile with

They were you and I, no different

And as we go through our days this anniversary

Let us remember that they were doing the same on that morning

Simply living their lives

Let us take time, a moment, a thought, an act, a prayer

To honor them

To remember the fallen

The nearly 3,000 men, women & children

Who never came home on that beautiful, sunny day

Ten years ago

Original was posted on 9/11/2011
