On Sunday the Little Miss was Baptized. It was a beautiful day. We were doubly blessed in having Mike’s Uncle as our Deacon for the Sacrament. His parents are her Godparents and both of our families were present to welcome her into the Church. She also did great during the Baptism itself. She had smiles all through & it looked like she was listening to every word.
However, she wasn’t a big fan of having her picture taken. Instead she made “the face!”
She hates to wear almost anything in her hair. Usually her hair hangs across her face & we are constantly telling her to push it out of her eyes/mouth/face. Until she discovered she has a love of headbands. Not any headbands though. Any old headband will be tossed aside. Only ones with flowers or other similar decorative items on them appear to do. I don’t know how I gave birth to such a girly girl, even her brain eating zombies are princess zombies. But I am hoping the trend lasts because honestly watching her eat through her hair (that she doesn’t want to push back behind her ears) was starting to kill me.
Normally this kid is a ham, but apparently he doesn’t like corn stalks because this was his answer to my “Wanna pose here next to the stalks & Momma will take your picture?” question. He turned, starting laughing (in a “Is she KIDDING me?!” kind of way) and booked it to Daddy. Saying:“Nuh, ugh! Nuh wanna stalk!!”
I promised to share the Flash Mob tribute from this weekend & how could I not! In fact, I hope this tribute goes viral so everyone can see how much Jevon touched the lives & souls of those who knew him. And in some small way come to know who he was.
I know my best friend (she’s how I met Mike) & her husband (who is also our friend– in fact, I even went to Middle School with him!) were like family to Jevon & they ache to hear his laughter again. As his family does & the rest of his friends do.
Also that end picture is how I will always remember Jevon. He had a great heart and was just a really wonderful guy. I can see his soul beaming from seeing & feeling all the love put into this!
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how this whole tribute came together…
It was Flash Mob America who put this whole thing together just to share in the love. In fact, Staci one of the founders of Flash Mob America went to high school with us. Amazing! So go and join now & friend them on the Facebook. Spread the message of love & good vibes. Because that is what it is all about, love & good vibes.
Also, the video was done by On Site Specialists! Go friend them too if you are on the Facebook because they put together an awesome video because they are just good folks like that.
