In order to leave the house we need to take a parade of things it seems. Not me, but the kids. A teddy in hand is held tightly.

A teddy in the stroller, because he was too tired to walk. He also needed to see the sights, so he hitched a ride with D-man. D-man did not want to be worn in a wrap or walk. He seems to like to be strolled so the wind catches in his hair. Whenever his hair flies up he giggles & flashes a wide smile.

Baby doll had to come. She also apparently likes to the wind in her hair & I was told she was not in the mood for pictures. I guess, we can’t expect the baby doll to walk on her own or always want her picture taken after all she’s only a baby. I wonder how funny this parade of children must look as we walk out the door or down a street, complete with their special loves in hand. Loves that sleep, eat and cuddle along with these children of mine on a daily basis. I know I find it sweet and makes me think of my own special love, Choo-Choo bear (complete with a train engineer costume). I still have Choo-Choo bear in my life he has stayed with me from the beginning. Literally he was my first toy! My husband has a childhood blanket put up that he remembers fondly, it’s worn in the corners from his little chubby boy hands. Now as adults we look fondly at our memories with these special childhood toys. I wonder if our children will do the same.
How about you have a special toy or love from childhood? How about your children anything they hold dear?

My kids surprised me with early Mother’s Day gifts. I was thinking it would be a tropical vacation. I know I’m silly like that. Instead it was much sweeter although doesn’t go as well with a little umbrella in a slushy drink.

A homemade necklace. Apparently like they made in the “olden days.” My eldest child thinks I’m 152 years old, because he thought it was like when I was a kid “way back when.” Although it is pretty with my white hippie chic shirt. I feel all earth mother in it.

There was a homemade hanger for art and other projects made by my daughter. Purple & pink. Her signature colors. I think she loves those colors more than her luggage.

I hung the beautiful handmade wrapping paper from my second boy up with it. He made me flowers. He loves giving flowers. I’m trying to train him now to send bouquets when he is older. Hey, if I can’t get Hubby to do it regularly maybe I can get the rabble-rousing bunch to. A girl can dream.

And dream I will with a little candle lighting my way. I loved how my second talked about how carefully he choose the tissue paper to add to the jar for his candle holder. He was so proud. And I was so proud of him & his siblings for the beautiful work & creativity in how they made their gifts.
Even though they make me want to pull my hair out some days, they sure are sweet hearts. I think I’ll keep them.

We have a token system in our house. The kids can earn tokens for good behavior, it can range from doing something kind to putting their coats up on the hook in their room when they come home. They can turn their tokens in for rewards, like 10 tokens is a sticker sheet. It’s been a great system. I know it might not be for everyone, but for them it helps to keep them on task in a positive way. Plus, making treasure chests (pirate treasure for the boys & Mamacita choose a heart) to put the tokens in was kinda fun. Well, they’ve been saving their tokens for quite a while to get something bigger. Of course the boys went for Legos. I found out after everything was together that this is a Tauntan (from Star Wars) and apparently he cannot survive long journeys without stopping to nosh on some goldfish. It makes sense to me, I mean if you had to snowplains of Hoth you’d need to nosh first too.
